Here's the skating rink they had at the Wild Lights. It looks like ice, and the kids were wearing ice skates, but it's not ice. It's plastic with a smooth finish. People said it was just like skating on ice.
I know it's hard to see, and it's not a great photo, but this is Santa playing golf. Dang it if he didn't make a hole-in-one every time.
Enjoying hot chocolate next to the fire while we watched the band (which was behind me while taking this pic) at Wild Lights at the zoo.
Here's part of the trainscape at the Living Desert Zoo in Palm Desert/Indian Wells. If you look close, you can see a train just to the left of center. This thing is HUGE, and it's really amazing. For the most part, everything is scale, and there are trains and villages everywhere. The water is real, not dried lacquer, like most. Mick, you would LOVE this trainscape. It's the most impressive one I've ever seen. It looks like it's a permanent part of the zoo, and it's outdoors.
Here's another shot of the trainscape, on the opposite side of the shot above.
One of the walkways at the Living Desert Zoo in Palm Desert/Indian Wells. Notice the cacti. The "Wild Lights" display was the most "Christmasy" thing we've seen down here, and it was really fun.
We forgot about this picture the night we posted about decorating the Christmas tree. I think the dogs were looking for their gifts.

Oh man... I can't believe I forgot to get gifts for your dogs. Lap gets presents... Charlie gets presents. Sorry kids. I'll do better next year.
