This is something I'd never seen at a model boat race before. In each turn, the race organizers had patrols on SeaDoos and a buoy line to keep boats out of the race area during the event. I thought it was a pretty cool idea. This guy (you can barely see him just to the right of center) was pretty good about keeping boats out. Just a few minutes after I took this picture, there were three pleasure boats parked on the beach on the other side of the channel . . . with the people just watching the racing.
London Bridge was the background for turns 3-4 at the NAMBA race last weekend. Pretty cool, even though the wind was blowing right in my face as I took this picture. For my RCU buddies . . . it was kind of like Ellensburg on Saturdays.
A crackerbox, running at the NAMBA race I went to watch last weekend. The racing was a little less than expected, as usually just one or two boats finished a heat . . . but in the guys' defense, the water was pretty rough. It was really windy that day.
