Dawn
We went on a road trip today. We went to Prescott. Boy, it was like coming home. The air was cool and there were trees. And the houses were old Victorian style wood houses rather than adobe style houses. For being only 2 hours away from Phoenix, it was like night and day. We read up on some of the history of Prescott. It started as a mining community in I think 1864 (like every where else around here). There is a real cute area in downtown called “Whiskey Row”, which had little shops and restaurants in the original old Hotels and Saloons, etc.
We tried to find a place in the mountains called “Skull Mountain” (I think). Back in the 1800’s some old miners found mounds of bleached skulls there. They later found out that it was a place where two different tribes of Indians had a battle over the ownership of some horses. But...we never found it.
Then we drove to a place called Lynx Lake. We wanted to walk or sit by the lake. When we got there it was gated off and closed. Only open on weekends this time of year. It was definitely not the “in season” there, like it is here. We did get a glimpse of the lake. It looked beautiful.
We ended up having a very nice day though. It was more like a nice Sunday drive. The skies were blue, even if it was chilly.
We did have some more sad news today though. Nelson’s oldest friend Phil and his wife Wendy are getting divorced. I guess it’s a pretty nasty situation and there are children involved , unfortunately.
Nelson also talked to his good friend Kevin today. That was also a very sad phone call. Kevin and his wife Judy lost their 15 year old daughter a few months ago due to a brain tumor. Kevin told Nelson that he and Judy were still having a real hard time of it. Very, very sad.
We’re going to practice our golf tomorrow while we’re doing our laundry. That should be interesting.
Oh and by the way for any of you that have been following this blog from the beginning...Nelson didn’t want me to tell you this, but he is still obsessed with constantly taking garbage bags everywhere with us, go figure!!!

Sorry to hear you were cold today. It's still pouring here. Like an inch a day. Rivers are near flood stage, or over. It's pretty warm, though!
Troy! You're back! We thought we lost you. Things are just not the same without you.
What if I did have a stick with a nail on it?? Would that make me a bad person? ;)
No we all know that Nelson brought this bag to racing only to find a black boat in it. The good thing is that he took it back home to you Dawn. Why would he have a stick in the first place. They will not go though Dawns Bud Light beer bottles. Maybe he picks up the left overs at all the places they eat at. Now this makes me a real bad person. Sorry Nelson about all the bad news thought. Glad we have you to talk to. We still saw that RED hat in the pictures.
